Antje Heinz


Antje Heinz has been with GLS since 1999 and serves as the director. She is a native of Germany and a credentialed teacher since 1996. She taught in elementary and middle Schools in Germany for 9 years before her husband's work brought her to San Diego in 1999. During her years with GLS, Antje has been teaching German I-IV to adults and children (children age 5-18). She specializes in middle and high school classes that are accredited by the school district and are reflected as credit in the student's transcript. Antje has also taken on a wide variety of translation assignments.

Roswitha Enright


Roswitha Enright, senior translator, specializes in scientific and commercial translations. She is accredited by the ATA (American Translators' Association).




Beate Menzel


Beate Menzel worked as an editor for Rowohlt Verlag in Hamburg, Germany, for many years. Since leaving Germany she has concentrated on translating English language texts, primarily literature, into German.




Erika Streuer


Erika Streuer founded GLS 20 years ago to fill a perceived gap in the San Diego area for high school level credit classes and for classes beyond the introductory level for adults in the community. Erika has before taught at all levels, but has focused most of her efforts on college students and adult learners. Erika continues to advise and consult with the GLS management.
